What we are
Safarani is an independent online directory that helps travellers discover and contact verified local tour operators across Tanzania. We cover safaris, mountain treks, beach escapes, cultural tours, and everything in between — from the Serengeti plains to the islands of Zanzibar.
We are not a tour operator. We do not sell, book, or arrange tours. We simply make it easier to find the right operator and contact them directly via WhatsApp.
Why we built this
Finding a trustworthy local guide in Tanzania is harder than it should be. Most operators are legitimate, experienced businesses — but they're difficult to discover online. Large booking platforms take high commissions, pushing up tour prices and cutting into operator income. Travellers end up paying more for less transparency.
Safarani cuts out the middleman. Operators list for free. Travellers browse for free. Contact happens directly over WhatsApp — no booking fees, no hidden commissions.
How it works
Operators apply to list
Tour operators submit their details — name, contact, destinations covered, activities offered, and TALA license number. Listings are reviewed before going live.
We verify TALA licenses
The Tanzania Association of Local Authorities (TALA) issues licenses to registered tour operators. We check submitted license numbers against the public register. Verified operators carry the TALA badge on their profile.
Travellers search and contact
Visitors browse by destination, activity, or budget. Every operator profile includes a direct WhatsApp link — one tap to start the conversation.
Always free
Browsing Safarani is free for travellers. Listing a business is free for operators. We do not charge booking fees, take commissions, or sell advertising placements. Our goal is to make Tanzania's tourism industry more discoverable and fair — not to profit from every booking.
