If you want an amazing taste of colonial Africa in a 100 plus year old hotel run by the same family for over 50 years, this is the place for you. Character abounds, the garden is beautiful, the hosts are fascinating and they know all there is to know about climbing Killi. They have access to many amazing local guides and porters and they looked after us impeccably on the climb. This is a place of deep character rarely found and we enjoyed every minute.
Marangu Hotel has been in the hands of the Bryce-Bennett family for decades. They deliver a perfect combination of professionalism, extensive knowledge & a caring personalised approach. The experience was just as good 30 years later & we could have happily stayed at Marangu Hotel post climb for another week! Home cooked 4 course dinners, fascinating guests & truly connecting with the locally employed highly experienced climb crews who quickly become friends.
We were recommended this hotel by a few other people who had done their Kilimanjaro Trek organised through them. Their excellent customer service started before we even arrived. The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. The room was very comfortable and quiet, with a lovely outlook into the gardens with many birds around. The trek was really well organised and the guides were keen to see us successfully reach the summit. Really lovely and friendly people here and I would like to whole heartedly recommend their hotel and their treks.
