November – April (peak flowering)
The rainy season (Nov–Apr) is when Kitulo is at its most spectacular — thousands of wild orchids and endemic wildflowers carpet the plateau. This is unusual as it is the wet season, but that is when the flowers bloom.

Are the flowers really that impressive?
Yes. Kitulo has over 350 species of plants, including 45 species of terrestrial orchid. In peak season the display is genuinely spectacular and globally rare.
Is there wildlife besides plants?
Yes — mountain reedbuck, eland, leopard, and African wild dogs are all present. The plateau is also home to Denham's bustard and blue swallows, both endangered birds.
