June – October
The dry season (June–October) is essential — wet season roads become impassable and the miombo vegetation makes wildlife spotting very difficult. Late dry season (August–October) concentrates wildlife at remaining water sources.

What makes Ugalla different from other parks?
Ugalla is pure miombo wilderness — no crowds, no lodges, and wildlife that has never been habituated to vehicles. The African wild dog population is one of Tanzania's most significant. It is for travellers who want Africa at its most raw.
How difficult is it to get to?
Tabora has a small airport with daily flights from Dar. The road transfer adds 3–4 hours on rough tracks. This is genuinely remote travel and not suitable for first-time Tanzania visitors.
